Brief History:
The Company incorporated in 1953 as Nu-Way Housing Inc., owned and operated by G.C. Butler and his four children Lester Butler, Russell Butler, Richard Butler and Dorothy Butler Chio. The Company had operated under G.C. Butler and Sons for many years in the residential market building new homes as well as remodeling. They were involved in limited commercial work.
With the inception of Nu-Way Housing Inc. they began to do more commercial work as they were a regional dealer of Preengineered Metal Buildings produced in Wooster by the United Steel Fabricators.
In 1960 G.C. Butler passed away and the 2nd generation of Richard, Russell, Dorothy Butler Chio and her husband Stan continued to run the business. With the increase in demand for metal buildings the company moved more into the commercial General Contracting doing projects all over Northeastern Ohio.
In 1973 the 3rd generation, Jerry and Lanny Chio, moved into the management of the Company as Richard, Russell, Dorothy and Stan all retired from active participation. With a strong background in the commercial industrial market in 1983 the name was changed to Nu-Way Construction Inc.
The Company continued to grow in the commercial industrial market through the 80's and into the 90's. During this time the company began to do outside steel erection for a select group of General Contractors and owners.
In 1992 Jerry Chio left the Company to become a Chief Building inspector and Lanny Chio took over as President with Stephen Chio as Vice President. Nu-Way continued to operate in the commercial industrial market with strong ties to the metal building and steel erection.
Now in 2001 the fourth generation continues the family tradition, Lanny J. Chio is taking the CEO position managing all of the field operations. Stephen A. Chio will take on the President's position managing the general office and the outside sales. Jason P. Chio will move from his director's position and project foreman to Vice President handling purchasing and estimating.
